Swimming pool with New York skyline, Mumbai
The eye-catching swimming pool in Mumbai, India, has been built to raise awareness about the threat of sea level rises as a result of global warming.
It was constructed by attaching a giant aerial photograph of the New York City skyline to the floor of the pool.
The idea was conceived by advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather, who were commissioned by banking giant HSBC to promote its £50million project tackling climate change.
The Ogilvy team came up with an innovative way to show the adverse impact of global climate change. They glued an aerial view of a city to the base of a swimming pool.
When the pool was filled with water, it gave a shocking effect akin to a city submerged in water. The visual of a sunken city shocked swimmers and onlookers, driving home the impact of global warming, and how it could destroy our world someday.

Interviewer: What kind of training went into you guys acting high?
Channing: Just have fun. Like, go crazy. I mean, it’s not a real drug, obviously. It’s called “Holy Effin’ Shit” so it’s not obviously a real drug.

Being in the Philippines, I’ve been learning a lot. Some of us take everything for granted and here, you’re lucky to even have a house. Living in a house with no A/C, few channels, cold water, and etc. I’m so lucky to even be living in Saskatoon. Now I don’t even want to complain I live in Saskatoon because some people live in the worst situations.
I’m so fortunate that my dad understands my sister and I. But really, my sister is giving my dad a hard time when she shouldn’t. He’s paying WAY over 5G for this trip. 5G for us staying in a resort because my sister hates it at the house. 5G for using a van service to drive us around everywhere. He was willing to pay extra for my sister to go home early because in her words “he forced her to come here.” I feel bad for my dad enough. I love my dad so much and he shouldn’t be talked to that way. He’s paying for everything in this trip and my sister can’t even appreciate it.
I can honestly adjust here, but not for so long. I’ll stay here for my dad and be supportive. I didn’t mind staying at the house with no internet and only having one room with A/C. If only I wasn’t pregnant, I wouldn’t even mind riding a tricycle or a jeepny to get around. The air is so bad here though.
We shouldn’t take everything for granted. We’re so fortunate to be living in Canada. When my dad threw a party at Star Plaza, his second or third cousins were asking him for help. A lot of people need help them and it sucks that we can’t help them all. The living situation here is such a struggle I don’t think I can ever settle here.
